    • Does the area where synthetic grass will be placed need to be dug up?

In most cases we will need to do some excavation to remove the existing surface of the proposed area. This is to allow for our compacted sub-base that will go in to help with drainage and compaction. We need to determine your desired goals for the finished height, as this will need to be considered. Occasionally we can simply add our sub-base over the existing surface but it needs to be free of any grass and weeds and be fairly smooth.

    • What prep needs to be done to the area receiving synthetic grass installation?

Grass and dirt will need to be extracted 4 to 6 inches below the surface of the border. This is to allow for our sub-base below the synthetic turf.

    • Is the preparation for installing synthetic grass included in the price?

The preparation for installing synthetic grass included in the price. This includes all labor and materials necessary to complete the project. Special considerations may need to be made in areas where existing concrete or other hard-scapes currently exist.

    • Will my yardneed additional drainage and pipes installed?

Drainage is not a concern, once we eradicate the grass and dirt in your yard any rain or water will be absorbed in the synthetic turf. Because of the base that we lay down before the grass is installed, mud or dirt from the existing land below will never com to the surface. Our compacted sub-base also absorbs much of the rainwater.

    • What will happen to the existing irriagation that is in my yard?

Your Turfinet contractor will cap off any irrigation pipes that will not be used because of the installation of our synthetic grass.

    • What is a sub-base?

The sub-base that we use is a combination of the sand and gravel mix that enables for a very tight compaction rate. Our sub-base allows for natural drainage that will be absorbed.

    • What is synthetic grass made from?

We use the highest quality, durable polyethylene (PE) polypropylene (PP) and nylon yarns available. This is attached to the specialized backing cloth.

    • What are the benefits of synthetic grass?

Click here to read about the many benefits of synthetic greens.

    • How is a bid for a synthetic grass project calculated?

It is mostly calculated by the square feet. We sell our products per square foot to the area you want to place synthetic grass. Price varies depending on the grade that you choose to install in your landscape. Special consideration needs to be made when removing concrete and other hard-scape materials.

We can determine the square footage of your project for you or you can multiply the length x width of the desired area and discuss with us.

    • Do weeds and other foreign elements grow in the synthetic turf?

It is not possible for vegetation to grow or break through the base of the synthetic grass. The only time any other vegetation will grow with your synthetic grass is if seeds fall on top of the grass after it is laid and it grows from the sand inside the synthetic turf, keeping the grass down from its weight. If foreign vegetation growth does occur, then it can be removed by using any kind of weed killer. This is not common, as it is difficult for natural elements to grow to sand and rock.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #1
What is the difference between synthetic turf and artificial grass?

Actually, artificial grass is the same thing as synthetic turf. In fact, this type of grass goes by many names such as fake grass, artificial turf, and synthetic grass, just to name a few. In essence, any grass that is an alternative to the real thing is considered artificial grass.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #2
Is an artificial lawn safe for children?

Yes! Whether you are installing a synthetic lawn on your home or business property, you can rest assured knowing that children will be safe when playing on it. Thousands of daycares, schools, and sports fields use artificial grass because it has been proven to be safe and comes with many benefits you just can’t get with a real lawn.

*No muddy fields or play areas after a rainy day

    *No grass stains on clothing

    *No chemicals, germicides, or pesticides

    *No allergies

These are just some of the many benefits artificial grass offers children. The list can go on and on.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #3
Does a synthetic lawn attract bugs and other pests?

No, it does just the opposite. Bugs have nothing to feed on in an artificial lawn making them look elsewhere for their food, e.g., a real yard. Pests such as ticks, fleas, and mites also will not be able to thrive in artificial grass, which will only increase the safety around your home or business for children and pets.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #4
    Is an artificial lawn pet-friendly?

Pets love to roll around in synthetic grass just like they would roll around in a real lawn. When you first introduce your pets to artificial grass, they may sniff it for a few minutes. This is normal. But once they get used to it, your pet will love the feel of your new artificial lawn. Numerous dog parks and kennels proudly use synthetic grass on their properties as an alternative to natural grass.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #5
    What about pet clean-up?

Worried about your pet ruining your new artificial grass? Don’t worry; pet messes are easy to clean when you have a synthetic lawn. Naturally, you will need to pick up your pet’s feces like you would if you had a real lawn. If any residue is left, you can simply hose it off. Your pet’s urine, however, will drain right through your artificial grass. An added bonus: Pet urine will not cause any yellow spots on an artificial lawn like it would on a real lawn.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #6
Does synthetic turf need any type of special maintenance?

If you want to keep your artificial grass looking its best, you should broom it occasionally. Doing so will help the fibers stand up and will also even out any infill material. Leaves, twigs, or other debris can easily be removed with a leaf blower.

    Artificial Grass FAQ #7
